Italy: Migration and Libya in the focus

03/18/2015. During a press conference in Rome, the Secretary General of the United Nations was concerned by the situation in Libya.

He spoke about the increasing presence of the Islamic State. He said the UN was doing its best to improve the dialogue between the Libyan parties and avoid further violence.

During his talks in the Italian capital, Ban Ki-moon also discussed the issue of migration. “I am horrified by the lack of scruples of traffickers,” he said, recalling the abuses that some migrants, asylum seekers and refugees face, adding that in some cases, traffickers did not hesitate at the abandon at sea.
